I couldn’t recommend Allpayacu Adventures more, me and my partner had the trip of a lifetime! We did 3 nights / 4 days which was enough to do most the activities but we definitely could’ve done more. The guides really make the experience, I love how you get a tour guide & local guide each and you can personalise your whole experience with them. We had William and Edgar (local) who were lots of fun, very informative and very skilled at spotting lots of wildlife - the highlights being the yellow-footed tortoise, pink dolphins and pygmy marmosets. The lodge itself was basic but cosy and clean, with hammocks to chill (nap) in between all the day’s activities. There are limited rooms available which create a quiet and chilled atmosphere around the lodge, and all the guides are constantly interacting with the guests. The food was amazing and plentiful, cooked by locals from nearby villages. They were excellent preparing vegetarian meals for my partner (which is not typically the case across Latin America). Overall, Allpayacu really stood out for me because of the local connection, quality of the guides, flexibility and variability of activities, atmosphere of the lodge, and of course value for money. Thank you to May and the team!

May and his team are super warm, knowledgeable and accommodating. Beyond seeing spectacular wildlife and awe inspiring nature, the highlight of the trip for me was getting a feel for the jungle from this excellent team of local guides who have a strong passion for conservation and and for sharing their experiences and culture with their guests. When you go, I recommend asking them questions about anything that comes to mind and saying yes to everything. You won’t regret it!

Our 3-day stay in the Amazon jungle was one of the most memorable travel experiences we've ever had. From the very beginning, May and the whole team made us feel genuinely welcome. Before our trip even started, they asked about food allergies, dietary preferences, and whether we ate everything, making sure every meal would suit us. The food turned out to be incredible—fresh, flavorful, and something we genuinely looked forward to after every adventure. Huge compliments to the chef, who somehow managed to create restaurant-quality meals in the middle of the rainforest. What we appreciated most was how flexible everything was. Instead of following a rigid schedule, the team asked what we were most interested in seeing and doing, offered different ideas, and tailored the activities to our interests. It felt like a personalized experience rather than a standard tour.Sleeping in the jungle was unforgettable. Relaxing in the hammocks while listening to the sounds of the rainforest was magical, and the accommodation struck the perfect balance between comfort and feeling immersed in nature. Our guide was exceptional. He didn't just point out animals—he shared fascinating stories about the rainforest, explained how plants and wildlife are connected, talked about local traditions, and answered every question we had about life in the Amazon and Peru. We left feeling like we had learned so much, not just seen beautiful places. Finally, a special thank you to our host, who was incredibly kind, warm, and made us feel more like guests than customers. If you're looking for an authentic Amazon experience with amazing people, outstanding food, and a team that truly cares about making your stay special, this is the place. We would choose it again without a second thought.

Visiting the Amazon with Allpayacu Adventures was a once in a lifetime experience and we could not recommend it enough. May is so incredibly knowledgable about the jungle and the plants and animals that live in it as well as being incredibly welcoming. From the moment he picked us up in Iquitos he went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and had an experience tailored to what we we’re keen to see (Sloths, Caymans, Monkeys, Dolphins etc). The lodge is a lovely off grid oasis in the jungle, the food was sensational (all home cooked and great portion sizes) and the other guides were also really friendly. We spent 2 days at the lodge and it was great value for money. We genuinely can’t thank May enough for giving us the most unforgettable experience - with that being said you’ve got to book now!

We spent 3 nights at the Alpayacu lodge, with the guide and owner May. The experience was exceptional and deserves the 5 star review it already has. I booked very easily via WhatsApp, the owner is very helpful and communicative. The lodge is in a well hidden beautiful location, and while simple, is extremely clean and comfortable. The room is well sealed with nets, keeping most of the insects out, and the net over the bed will ensure a restful sleep without unwanted guests. The excursions were incredible. May is an extremely talented guide, his English is perfect and fluent, and his eye to spot hidden animals let us see a variety of animals, including multiple encounters with the river dolphins. The scenery is out of this world. The food at the lodge was also great. Most importantly, this lodge is locally owned and while also employing locals, the profits of the company go back to the community. May supports many local projects which we saw with our own eyes, helping with school supplies for the local villages, environmental conservation and plastic clean ups etc. Unfortunately there are many other lodges, however most are owned by foreign companies who's profits do not help enrich the local communities. I would 100% encourage anyone to book this lodge for your adventure in the Amazon.

Was an amazing experience. Did the survival tour. Went out into the Amazon and saw its beauty. The guides were experienced, fun, patient, and willing to adjust the experience for the guest at any point. William and Bender’s passion ensured the experience I was looking for. The lodge is also perfect. Great price, great time, great people. Book with Allpayacu Adventures.

Trip to Amazinas with Allpayacu was the best which I ever had with any agency/organisation. They will organise a private program for you which you can change anyhow you want. Mr. May is super nice, super helpful and super kind in every point of view and will do everything to satisfy you. All his colleagues were in the same mood. We stayed there 4 days/3 nights and we miss this place so much. I havenever been in such a relaxing and calm place where you feel like somewhere out of today's world (when you live in capital city as I do). I can absolutely recommend Allpayacu and if I will have a chance to come back, I will definately go there again. May and your team, I wish you best of luck and success in business, because you are the best and you deserve to be Number 1 in Peru!

Our stay at Allpayacu went perfectly! It is not commercial at all. All the guides and cooks are from the region and know basically everything about this place. The food was great and there were always good vibes. You can also costumise your tour and tell them exactly what you want to focus on. They support the local communitys and educate the locals about important things like the climate change. The biodiversity in this region is really great and unique. We saw so many cool animals!! We even could fullfill our lifelong dream of seeing an Anakonda! This company was everything we wished for.

We highly recommend Alpacuya Lodge. The service was excellent, communication was smooth, the food was very good, and the lodge was clean and beautiful. The guided tours were very informative, and you could feel everyone's passion for the rainforest. Highly recommended.

In early November, me and my 2 travel partners did a 4-day Amazon tour with Allpayacu Adventures, and we absolutely loved it.
From the moment we were picked up in Iquitos, everything was perfectly arranged and communication was excellent. We met our guide May, who was amazing—knowledgeable, friendly, easy to talk to, and he even helped us plan parts of our trip before we arrived.
After a 2-hour boat ride we reached the lodge, beautifully located deep in the jungle. The place was peaceful, with comfortable insect-proof rooms, great common areas, and the best beds we had in Peru. Falling asleep to the jungle sounds was unforgettable.
Every day had a different activity: jungle hikes, piranha fishing, night walks, bird-spotting on the river, and plenty of relaxing time. The food was incredible—three delicious meals a day from a private chef—and the staff was super friendly. They even cooked the piranhas we caught!
What made the tour truly special was our guide May. He customized everything based on our wishes and the weather conditions, and on the last day he took us to a local community where we got to cuddle a sloth—one of the highlights of our trip.
After four wonderful days, it was hard to say goodbye. We left full of joy, new memories, and a desire to return.
Thank you May, our captain, and the whole Allpayacu team for an unforgettable experience! 🫶🏼

My partner and I travelled all of Peru over the summer and my stay with Alpayacu was absolutely top of the list. As a well travelled person, I can honestly say this was one of the greatest experience of my life.
I have wanted to visit the Amazon since I was a young child, and the family-like team at Alpayacu made this so special.
The experience was raw and natural but so beautiful too. After talking with other travellers about their experiences in the jungle and what they got to see, I’m so glad we went with Alpayacu. We saw countless species of birds, monkeys, insects, sloths, anteater, snake, and even some tarantulas! The list goes on!
May and James were so accommodating from the moment we met them. My partner and I were lucky to be the only guests at the time and felt very safe at all times. They gave us the option to personalise our itinerary incase we got tired of trekking or didn’t want to look for tarantulas ect. But we had the best time by having full trust in Mays itinerary and living the full jungle experience.
My partner is a fussy eater but agrees some of the best food we had in Peru was at the Alpayacu eco-lodge. And a mile up stream where we caught and cooked piranha using traditional stick-and-line fishing method!
It was great talking to May about the Alpayacu vision. His hopes to better the community and educate future generations were inspiring. He took us to a local village they support (a wonderful experience) where it was lovely to see how respected he was. His story is beautiful and passion is strong. The world needs more people like this. I couldn’t be happier with where my money was going.
Please support a great team and have one of the greatest experiences of your life. A piece of my heart with always be with Alpayacu. I will be back.

Allpayacu was more than I ever could had imagined. Truly surreal . There is something that feels very special being in the Amazon. May (Mike) picked me up from the airport & was there every step of the way. I always felt safe. His english was very good. All his staff were kind, & thoughtful. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace, & also as if my body was designed to be there in the jungle. I chose Allpayacu for its authenticity, & affordability.
My guide was born & raised in the jungle. He was very knowledgeable, not only for the jungle adventure portion of the visit but also, the Best of Iquitos tour he offers.
The food provided satisfied & activated taste buds I didn't know I had.
Absolutely delicious Peruvian cuisine. I brought snacks but, what was provided was more than enough. This trip can be catered to what you are looking for to experience. If you are at all hesitant, stop & book this epic trip today!
